Raízes do Brasil Capoeira - New York
Professor Eduardo started Capoeira at the age
of 15 in Brasília, Brazil. After attending
several different schools there, he finally
found Raízes do Brasil capoeira! This group
is notable not only for its dedication to the

preservation and expression of native
Brazilian culture, it also reflects an
uncommon mix of the city's most affluent
residents with its poorest. Children of
senators and bank executives train with kids
born and raised on the streets.
Eduardo has been involved with other Brazilian
Martial Arts since 1979.
Today, with almost two decades of
capoeira experience, he is contributing to spread
the art and the culture of capoeira in
New York City (USA). Professor Eduardo has
performed and taught seminars for institutions such as
The Juilliard School, NYU, Penn State University, Yale University, Princeton University,
U.S. Marine Corps Headquarters Battalion and many more. He is also an educated
person and recently acquired his Bachelor degree
in Information Systems from a local New York
City University, with a minor in Physical
Education. To see Eduardo performing, is to
see a powerful cultural expression and
self-confidence built throughout the years of
dedication to the Capoeira's world!
